Over the years, more and more people have taken to watching videos on multiple devices. This means that, as long as viewers have access to an internet connection, they are able to view video content 24 hours a day, no matter where they go.

In 2015, Ofcom found that almost 60% of mobile phone owners have used their mobile to view videos posted by other people, and that this number had increased by 13% in just 2 years. And according to a report by Millward Brown, “Multiscreeners spend as much time watching online video as they do watching TV.” This means that people aren’t just using mobile phones to watch video, they are watching more video because of mobile phones.

We all know a picture says a thousand words, but what about video? In 2014, Forrester Research concluded that “a minute of video is worth 1.8 million words.” By our calculations, that makes videos one thousand times better than pictures, and hundreds of thousands of times better than the average sentence. According to Forbes, 59% of executives would rather watch a video than read text. Forbes also reported that click through rates for emails increased 96% if they included a video, and that a website with video is 53 times more likely to get a page one listing on Google.

In short, people want to watch videos. And these findings clearly show that video has become one of the most effective ways for businesses to reach a target audience.
