TellyJuice Create The Guardian Language Festival Advert

Designed by David Skinner

Animated by Ajan Navaratnasingam

Ciao! Willkommen! Bonjour! Hello!

Here is the commercial we created for The Guardian to advertise The Guardian Language Festival. It’s a UK-wide festival to celebrate our nation’s diverse cultural heritage. The festival is an on-going campaign to showcase the importance of learning a language in the UK. Events begin on 17th October. For more information about the festival’s programme of events, follow this link.

The Guardian will be supplying schools with a free education pack to promote the event and wants to encourage students, teachers and parents to take part in the festival, online or through live events, to join in, celebrate and learn about languages. The education pack is available to download from The Guardian Language Festival website.

The Advert Production

guardian language festival storyboard

We were supplied with an image of the language signpost from which we came up with the creative, and presented The Guardian with our concept and this storyboard (above). When The Guardian were happy to proceed, we had only 2 weeks to deliver, so our turnaround was molto veloce! The advert was created and animated in After Effects. You can read testimonials from The Guardian and other TellyJuice clients here.

TellyJuice Languages
