Birdman, Alejandro González Iñárritu satire about an ageing movie star trying to reinvent himself as a credible Broadway actor, took best picture and and best director at the 2015 Oscars.
Despite relatively meager domestic ticket sales of $37.8 million, Birdman had been the favorite to win best picture, having swept the top prize at banquet after banquet leading up to the Oscars. It also took the awards for cinematography and screenplay.
However, as a fan of all things video, TellyJuice loves the original birdman Caroll Spinney, seen here. For your Oscar consideration: A veteran puppeteer, who plays an avian icon, battles his ego and attempts to find his way back to a certain furry and friendly street. This is ‘Big Birdman.’ Brilliant.
